Working on DW 5.5 in Windows 7. I open a .php file on the local server then Save As a different name with the intention of editing the text. Before I even make any edits I find that the file has doubled in size, though it doesn't appear any different to me in DW. Our web host tells me that when he looks at the file after I've uploaded it (without making any edits other than changing the file name) he sees blank characters in between every single character in the code. This doesn't occur for every file. It appears that this only occurs with files that call browser selector and truncate scripts. I am able to successfully rename and edit files that don't call those types of scripts. Anybody ever seen this or have any suggestions for further troubleshooting?

Configuring local and remote server mysql
So I am loosing my mind a bit. I have a local testing server and a remote server. My local MAMP database works fantastic with my website. I have a php script under a folder 'connections' labeled "localhost.php" that is used to as the connection to my MYSQL database. I uploaded my entire site to a remote server, configured the remote database (000webhost.com) and for simplicity, just changed the configuration in the original 'localhost.php' to match the remote server database connection. However, no matter how many times I try, I can't get it to connect! When I go online to 000webhost.com and access the database, it is in fact functioning. So the error is definitely in the connection.
It seems that even though I specify the url for the host as mysql7.000webhost.com, I get an error indicating it cannot connect to the url. The url has the address of my local server, followed by the remote server details. I can't seem to change this and it is driving me nuts. FTP works fine, just the database. Any pointers?
As a summary, here are the steps I made:
- clicked on "databases" window
- double clicked on my database name "local host"
- Changed the username, host, database, and password to EXACTLY what I was provided
- Clicked test and I receive "unidentified error occurred"
- http error 404 pops up with a url indicating it is attempting to route through the my local url first (localhost:8889)

Design mode/ Live Mode
I know there is a simple fix to this but I can't figure it out. I have a website that has a few pages created in Dreamweaver CS6. I few weeks back, the site and the webpages looked good. Then a few days ago, I logged into Dreamweaver and began to update a new page for our current winners, and this is when something went wrong.
In design mode, my web page looks like its supposed to, background image and all the image attachments including the Logo are where they are suppose to be. However, in Live mode my page is all white, and all the attached images are not viewable. The attachment images have a ? mark in the center of each box where an image would be placed.
I now have a webpage that up until a week or so ago worked and now, whenever someone views that page, all they see is a white screen.
Can someone please assist me in getting this issue resolved.

Dreaweaver 2014.1 won't launch
Hi folks
I was using this version on Windows 7, and i just installed Windows 8.1
it worked fine for about a day and a half - but today it refuses to open. Fireworks works fine, but DW - i click to launch, it seems to work, though the splash screen doesnt appear, and then after a few seconds, i see the shortcut button in the task bar has also unselected itself

Dreamweaver CS5 interface font replaced symbols font - HELP!
I need HELP! My Dreamweaver CS5 interface font has been replaced by the symbols font and is unreadable. I have reset Dreamweaver and deleted the dreamweaver cache and restarted my iMac 27' running Mac

Code view line height
I am on Mac OS X Yosemite using DW CC 2014. Code view is set to Source Code Pro. The problem is that line height in code view is smaller than the font height -- or something like that.
This screenshot demonstrates what I mean. Look at these characters: {,},y,g and see how they are cut off at the bottom. I've tried to fix this by changing fonts but most other fonts show the same problem. Changing font size in DW preferences also does not fix it. I tried changing the Source Code Pro set altogether using Suitcase Fusion. That did not help either. When I try to use Source Code Pro in other apps it works fine. So this seems to be a DW-specific problem.
Any ideas?

Adding Rows/Cells to Existing Tables in Dreamweaver CC
Dear Sir/Madam,
Why can't I add extra cells or columns to an existing table?
I have a database that I frequently update but, I have noticed that since I upgraded my software from Studio MX 2004 to Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5 (and now trialing Dreamweaver CC), the table options (like add row/column) are not available.
What would be the best method of listing the alphabetical links. Should I just list them devoid of a table or can I use what I have already designed (without having to create a new page as it will take ages to input all the data again)?

Problems saving new site to folder
I have CS4 and haven't am having an issue with Dreamweaver. When I create a new site and assign it's location, the program does not allow me to select the proper folder. For example, I created a folder on my desktop and want to start a new site and when I locate it through the screen, it changes the exact location to just general "desktop." I've tried going further and when I attempt to save this new site for the first time, I get an error msg that the folder is located in a previous site folder and that clicking 'yes' could cause issues. I thought the issue might be related to all the 'recent' files I have on my system (I've started a number of sites but never actually finished any) and I don't know quite what to do.

Apply Source Formatting Broken, Not Working
My source formatting in Dreamweaver CS5.0 has quit working. It places all divs and other tags on one line instead of inserting line breaks and indenting tags as it should.
I've checked in Edit --> Tag Libraries --> HTML Tags and my tags are defined OK, for instance, DIV is set to add a break before and after a Div tag. However, when I Apply Source Formatting it puts everything on a single line.
For instance, if I have this code:

<div id="main">
<div id="content">
</div>
<div id="side">
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div id="footer">
</div>
</body>
Then when I run Apply source Formatting Dreamweaver 5.0 is changing it to:
<body> <div id="wrap"> <div id="main"><div id="content"></div><div id="side"></div></div></div><div id="footer"></div></body>
It is doing this in all my projects, not just some.
I believe this problem may have started when I downloaded from Adobe and installed Adobe's HTML5 Extension. I've removed that Extension now and restarted Dreamweaver but Apply Source Formatting hasn't reverted to working normally.
Anyone know a fix?

Site definition Help needed....Thanks
I am working with Dreamweaver 8. Vista operating system. My problem is a simple one but I am really
stuck on it.
In the past I have learned that to set my site definitions
to always work OFF line and then transfer changes to my hosing company. For some reason this has changed to working
ON line in the ftp:\\ mode.
I am unable to find a way to get back to the SITE
DEFINITIONS PAGES to change back to “Edit locally and then upload to remote
testing server.” Need help, PLEASE

Edge animation loading images with json doesn't work in dreamweaver.
I have a edge animation who uses a json file to load pictures, when I try to insert this animation into dreamweaver with the created oam it doesn't copy the json file. I tried to insert it manually but where ever I put it doesn't work.
